Ukraine is defending itself not only on the battlefield, but also through technical innovation \u2014 and volunteer firearms designers are playing a key role in that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfaf Why Firearms Design Matters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ukraine faces the need to equip its defenders with safe, reliable, and mission-specific weapons and accessories. Many of these tools can be developed or improved by volunteers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open-source modular firearms components (stocks, grips, rails)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suppressors and recoil mitigation systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ergonomic modifications for medical and tactical needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weapon-mounted accessories (lights, optics mounts, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Durable, lightweight transport and holster systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simplified manufacturing methods (3D printing, CNC-friendly)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All design work is <strong>non-lethal or support-focused<\/strong>, developed in collaboration with vetted Ukrainian partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udde0 Who We\u2019re Looking For<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mechanical &amp; firearms engineers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CAD designers (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Industrial designers with experience in weapons ergonomics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3D printing experts and CNC machinists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ballistics modeling \/ physics background (optional but welcome)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd27 Types of Volunteer Projects<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Designing modular weapon parts for field testing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Improving ergonomics for use with gloves, in cold, or by injured soldiers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supporting Ukrainian producers with print-ready design files<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simulating recoil patterns or structural stress<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Documenting and improving open-source small arms projects<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u26a0\ufe0f Ethics &amp; Responsibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not support indiscriminate or offensive weaponry.
