Gardiner<\/strong><br \/><br \/>Ukrainian innovation has combined the use of legacy anti-tank landmines and new heavy drones for deep precision mining of Russian logistical routes.<\/p>\n\n<p>Exact nighttime drops and new electronic fuzes combine to put tremendous pressure on Russian supply vehicles.<\/p>\n\n<p>[Russian UAZ \u201cLoaf\u201d Van]<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXcpQpR1EUhflYFq1PscygF2t62cd8L35ojjRZjeaMRV59FePPdmRKLEfCAozoA3-tPg9CvofwXOvySDtsqnVt41JvMoBqyqUdDXnN3MRXeRj61N0KIRc3g6NQC8nuqB-z9VFHbhDQ?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The Soviets developed a family of remote deployed landmines for scattering by rockets and helicopters.<\/p>\n\n<p>Devices such as the PTM-3 anti-tank, and POM-2 anti-personnel landmines were needed in considerable numbers to reliably give enough density on roads and attack routes.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdtf6j2hZ3I_7Jqme3vHXLGk1NqDy6-bbnIkB7YYcCw8cv8WfKSPorPRfVjgqd4Z3y74wOcATIBMHMGntWWfM8_6ORN73Etu7kwO3zRf3bFTLXYOd78XwQmL8mBxlaI6E584ebcuQ?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" width=\"624\" height=\"416\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>Ukraine removes these landmines from their carrier munitions and places them one by one, exactly where each presents maximum risk to Russian vehicles.<\/p>\n\n<p>Heavy lift multicopters such as the \u201cVampire\u201d hexacopter or \u201cNemesis\u201d quadcopter operate each night using a combination of GPS control and operator alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Modern Ukrainian electronic fuzes such as the \u201cJonik\u201d magnetic-influence fuze have replaced out-dated and unreliable Soviet fuzes.<\/p>\n\n<p>Anti-handling devices such as a motion-detecting gyroscope make clearance by Russian EODs each day exceptionally dangerous and lengthy.<\/p>\n\n<p>Unmanned Forces commander \u201cMadyar\u201d has led this crucial mining campaign to disrupt Russian logistics.<\/p>\n\n<p>He established the mass production of a new landmine called PTM-Y for this purpose, based on the Russian PTM-3 but with a new \u201cJonik\u201d fuze.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXfAE-wpsh7ZK1fWgk_3DUdHHILBLVOyP17NXkWNhnvBKgXEfpK4F0ikQbYDOm6habaaTvpaaucVlLP8nYMalLIq_qFMbHG6GF1rLdgNtQXm3Bz_EyCXrY1Tx_alUWzIkcH53YsM7w?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" width=\"624\" height=\"901\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>A new shaped-charge anti-tank landmine called PTM-L1 has also been developed for drone placement, inspired by the American M70 remotely scattered submunition.<\/p>\n\n<p>The \u201cJonik\u201d fuzed PTM-L1 has even been placed on Russian railway lines targeting locomotives.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdEqNdW4u5pIv2sBRlMOocjoX1Mpc3NWWyaLOz3qaVkwaaxV8RXtk9JcvYD3msxpnu2vtVQOrYOxrYrdBNk_GS3_W4O0izLq-3qiEO6QFSZwWagyfkGRPG8dfKcxN5Clm0oXJEyyg?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" width=\"624\" height=\"571\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>Legacy pressure-activated anti-tank landmines such as Soviet designed TM-62s can be precision-placed on roads as well.<\/p>\n\n<p>This even includes old NATO donated landmines such as the Danish M\/47 developed in 1947!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdqDChb-2e40I7miDWBcfme8PQ9Jp9TvLZWF5sbAc1tEgat-mpsXyth6D05M4UlOJB7blipTDCgVs4lOjhyTZrdRAcgG0xjv-PfDEi-VBEZC_IfRqXeH1SGk_XaNgMRtocspBcjQw?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" width=\"624\" height=\"624\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>Ukrainian heavy drones also install both pressure and magnetic anti-tank landmines on approach roads and along attack axes during pauses at night in Russian assaults.<\/p>\n\n<p>Along with Ukrainian FPVs this has relegated armored vehicles to an increasingly distant support role.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Ukraine has also developed a range of mechanical and electrically-fuzed improvised anti-personnel landmines for dropping by drones.<\/p>\n\n<p>These are spread on Russian trails and roads, as FPVs have forced Russian supplies to be carried to the front lines by bearers or motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n<p>[Printed Ukrainian \u201cK2\u201d anti-personnel alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>For reasons that are unclear, Russia has failed to develop a significant heavy drone fleet of their own.<\/p>\n\n<p>Thus they are restricted to what large FPVs can carry alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Recently some fiber-optic FPVs are configured as precision-placed magnetic-influence landmines.<\/p>\n\n<p>They are landed in tight spots difficult to otherwise reach because of line-of-sight limitations on operator radio control of a heavy drone.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXfpiH38R3B0sFYJM8jGVwu8kyTq2WL0fr_hLYDbmfrX8X9uN_koq4HPhrEKCsZrOdZPiI054I_rwqK7dZVamArWzX2nGW5Lfe_XLldoqs2Zn8XI8-z_IylnMnGVc_exwexoiRk-wQ?key=1dHVmXyB1JYERA8-rLsGLw\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The distinction between a landmine and precision-guided munition is being blurred by fiber-optic ambush FPVs, which can lie in wait for hours alongside roads for vehicles
