Firearms Design for Ukraine

Support Ukraine’s Right to Defend Itself — With Smart, Responsible Firearms Design

In modern warfare, the ability to rapidly design, improve, and manufacture small arms and accessories is a strategic advantage. Ukraine is defending itself not only on the battlefield, but also through technical innovation — and volunteer firearms designers are playing a key role in that.

🎯 Why Firearms Design Matters

Ukraine faces the need to equip its defenders with safe, reliable, and mission-specific weapons and accessories. Many of these tools can be developed or improved by volunteers:

  • Open-source modular firearms components (stocks, grips, rails)
  • Suppressors and recoil mitigation systems
  • Ergonomic modifications for medical and tactical needs
  • Weapon-mounted accessories (lights, optics mounts, etc.)
  • Durable, lightweight transport and holster systems
  • Simplified manufacturing methods (3D printing, CNC-friendly)

All design work is non-lethal or support-focused, developed in collaboration with vetted Ukrainian partners.

🧠 Who We’re Looking For

We welcome:

  • Mechanical & firearms engineers
  • CAD designers (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD)
  • Industrial designers with experience in weapons ergonomics
  • 3D printing experts and CNC machinists
  • Ballistics modeling / physics background (optional but welcome)

🔧 Types of Volunteer Projects

Designing modular weapon parts for field testing

Improving ergonomics for use with gloves, in cold, or by injured soldiers

Supporting Ukrainian producers with print-ready design files

Simulating recoil patterns or structural stress

Documenting and improving open-source small arms projects

⚠️ Ethics & Responsibility

We do not support indiscriminate or offensive weaponry. All contributions are for defensive and humanitarian use and coordinated with vetted end-users.
